Invalid hostname [scrubbed]; rejecting

Anyone have comment please about the following warning, ideally in the context of my Tor log (level: notice)?

Invalid hostname [scrubbed]; rejecting

I am using third party software which is using deprecated v2 onion addresses (hostnames?). Unsure if that permission issues and HSDir lines are related.

And in response to your wondering about whether the HSDir and Permission Denied, probably not.
But that issue can be solved by adding the user that tor is running on to read and write to that director, and that should fix it.

Unfortunately, v2 is fully deprecated and obsolete by this stage, and after for 0.4.6 is no longer cached as a descriptor relay side. There are special nodes in the network known as HSDir relays, which cache descriptors from onion services and serve them to clients connecting through them.
Relays running v0.4.6 or later (and most of them are) will no longer serve the v2 addresses your connecting to.
In short, your sol.

There is tweak that will prevent writing these lines into logs (it will remain in journalctl output though).
