Tor Browser freezes and I can not use it

what is the issue.
I open the browser. I can hear the phone of my computer ramping up and the browser freeze. I can use other apps but tor is frozen. totally frozen.

(because it is frozen I can not tell you the security level and browser version. But I just downloaded it. that is all I can say)

Download the browser from the official page:

Verify the signature:

Install the browser in a newly created directory.

Close any other Tor Browser instance you may have running, run the newly installed Tor Browser and update it (Menu → Help - About Tor Browser).

Report if any of these steps did not work, mentioning:

  • which step did not work and what happened
  • the operating system version
  • the name of the browser installer package you downloaded

If you’re using Windows (likely, judging from “Product ID”), the most probable cause is interference from other applications, usually (anti/)virus software).
