Lightning and the dos attack

I think it might be possible that bitcoin’s lightning network is facilitating the ongoing attack against tor infrastructure.

Lightning is a distributed network of nodes that are online all the time that make public:

  • their tor address
  • a list of tor addresses they are required to be in contact with

On top of that at no cost a user broadcasting a route through the network can know when they will be required to contact each other. Currently there are 80,000 channels and a majority of them operate exclusively over tor.

I’m not familiar with how tor circuits work, or if this information would provide surface are for attack, but intuitively it seems like it would.
