How change the daemon user (Init)

I would like to run the tor daemon under another user. (not root !) is that possible ?

Hi. In /usr/share/tor/tor-service-defaults-torrc there is a parameter: User. The default is debian-tor. In fact, some task managers show debian-tor as root. But I am not sure if it is root.

But the /usr/share/tor/tor-service-defaults-torrc file will be overwritten after update. So it is better to make changes to /etc/tor/torrc.
