403 error when using Tor browser to access Gaia site

I can use Firefox to visit https://www.gaia.com/ , however Tor browser gave me a 403.Here are the details:

403 ERROR

The request could not be satisfied.

Request blocked. We can’t connect to the server for this app or website at this time. There might be too much traffic or a configuration error. Try again later, or contact the app or website owner.
If you provide content to customers through CloudFront, you can find steps to troubleshoot and help prevent this error by reviewing the CloudFront documentation.

Generated by cloudfront (CloudFront) Request ID: 28kaE7vKhzJRLELeOeivazLxUBfSbMb0sm_MxUkoMHUIuC8V6TdV7Q==

I’m using the latest version 11.0.4

My IP reflects Berlin, Germany. I don’t think Gaia would block a country like Germany though.

It’s likely that the website might be blocking this particular exit (or a bunch of exits) because they can’t tell the difference between the average Tor user and automated traffic. You can try changing the circuit to the website by clicking on the padlock icon in the URL bar and then clicking on “New Circuit for this Site” .

Thanks @championquizzer , I will read up on that. I can now actually access https://www.gaia.com/ okay with Tor.

Yesterday also, I tried accessing Youtube. See attached screendump for the error.

Later on, I was able to access Youtube with Tor., and noticed the display of videos had nothing that I usually see. Which simply demonstrates that Youtube store what each IP address looks at, to then offer video ‘suggestions’. Whilst this may seem a nice courtesy on the part of Youtube, I see it as electronic surveillance. :frowning:

Viewing YouTube over Tor is going to be pretty much impossible because many people use Tor to scrape YouTube. I’d recommenced you use Invidious (a YouTube frontend).

To get you started:

I too had this issue, it doesn’t load captcha either so you have to keep requesting new identity until it works.

@chris Thanks for the links, does scraping mean to download whole channels?
